The Danish Young Professionals are pleased to invite you to our first event in 2018. On February 28th, we have invited Johannes Lauesen, CxO at aquillo and entrepreneur, together with Mathias Boyer, Senior Representative at Danske Bank A/S, to come and share their knowledge and thoughts on a very hot topic: Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

Recently, Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies have been making headlines in the media and financial world. But what is a Bitcoin and how does it work? Will it ever become the preferred currency in our society? What is the current state of the cryptocurrency development in the world?

If you are not an expert in bitcoin and its advanced technology, then you are not alone! Some predict that it is going to change the way we handle money, while others warn us. The repercussions of this new emerging phenomenon are difficult to understand, but on wednesday, February 28th, two speakers will try to answer your questions.

In 2010, Johannes Lauesen moved to China to work for Siemens as their lead engineer and group leader for their DCS Radio Team.
In 2014, he started his own Company called Climatech (now aquillo), and is now producing high-end and high-tech designer air purifiers.
Johannes has always been on top of new technological innovations and in 2011 he started to mine his own bitcoins. He has since then become very familiar with blockchain theory and the technology behind cryptocurrencies.

Mathias Boyer has 20 years of China experience and more than 10 years of experience within financial services as he is currently the Senior Representative of the Danske Bank China Desk. Mathias will provide a macro-overview of the state of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in the world, as well as why regulators worldwide are right to feel skeptical and anxious by its rapid adoption rate. He will close by adding his own personal opinion on whether or not bitcoin can ever become a recognized substitute for traditional currencies in our society.
